I’ve been working in and on the Internet since 1996, with only brief digressions to earn a biology degree and a nuclear reactor operator’s license. I’ve shipped software and led teams for Amazon, Meta, and a lot of startups big and small. Now I’m EVP of Engineering at Adaptiv Systems.

Occasionally I also consult on weird, interesting problems. If you have a startup with a weird, interesting problem (technical or cultural) maybe you can pay me to solve it.

Recently I’ve been persuaded to start blogging. 2026 seems like an ideal time to start a personal blog. I think this is a trend that’s really going to take off!
